In Baz Lurhmann's mind, making his Great Gatsby adaptation unnecessarily in 3-D is apparently second only to making the whole thing seem like it would have come together in 1998, because now he's reportedly trying to get Ben Affleck to join Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio in the film. If the actor can work it out in his schedule, he'd be playing the husband of Daisy (Carey Mulligan), Tom Buchanan, alongside DiCaprio's Gatsby and Maguire's Nick. Just need to get Ethan Hawke and some actors from Cruel Intentions and/or The Mod Squad, and you'll totally beat Shakespeare in Love at the Oscars this year, Baz!
