In The Great Snow White Movie War being waged between Universal Pictures and Relativity Media, a clear rift now divides the competing films in terms of their dwarf populations. While Tarsem Singh's Relativity project went the authentic route, casting seven honest-to-god little people as the dwarves, Rupert Sanders' film is instead going the Lord of the Rings route, computer-shrinking esteemed, regular-sized actors to clinically short stature. Evidence of such a plan comes today with the announcement Ian McShane will play the Universal's film lead dwarf, Caesar. At face value, that would seem to give that film the acting advantage over its competition, but considering Relativity is now pushing their film as a comedy, perhaps this is all part of a larger strategy. Specifically, the strategy: dwarfism is pretty funny, right Scary Movies?
