Edward Norton in Talks for Bourne-less 'Bourne Legacy' Villain

The Bourne series has lost its star for the latest installment of the franchise, but Universal is sure doing its best to distract us from staring at that ever-present Damon-shaped depression in the Bourne mattress. With rising star Jeremy Renner set for the new Bourne-like character, and Rachel Weisz playing the female lead, the studio is now in talks with Edward Norton to play the The Bourne Legacy's villain--even though he hasn't really played a bad guy since 2003's Italian Job remake. Evidently, no one at Universal has seen him dressed up like a ridiculous troop leader. So, maybe with the combined star power of Renner, Weisz, and Norton, we'll be able to forget that Jason Bourne isn't in this goddammer. Probably not, though; I mean, his name is right there in the title.
