Not yet ready to test drive that buzzed-about, new-model Olsen just off the Pretty Young Blonde factory lot, Sofia Coppola has chosen pricier yet proven-reliable Harry Potter star Emma Watson to pensively stare out the window of her latest vehicle, Bling Ring.
The film, written and to be directed by Coppola, dramatizes the true story of a group of teens who, over the course of a year, burglarized roughly $3 million from a group of oblivious Hollywood Hills celebrities that included such worthy targets as Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. The producers--Coppola, brother Roman, and Youree Henley--claim the movie will "reveal a sobering view of our modern culture," so prepare to emerge quite sobered about modern culture. MATERIALISM. CELEBRITY. Smartphones? Filming is expected to begin around Los Angeles in the spring, though, with this being an ensemble piece, many parts remain to be filled before then. Coppola should probably keep her windows open, just in case a stray Fanning wants to dreamily wander in through the sunlight.
