Following up on some old rumors, Russell Crowe and Lindsay Lohan have now been confirmed to play heroes of the Bible and White Diamonds commercials.
As you may recall, back in Feburary Crowe was rumored to be playing Christianity's most revered storm preparation expert in Darren Aronofsky's Noah. At the time, Liam Neeson, too, was rumored for part, but while his role has not been confirmed, Crowe's has, with Paramount and New Regency today releasing a statement announcing the casting.
In said statement, Aronofsky said, "I rejoice that Russell Crowe will be by my side on this adventure. It's his immense talent that helps me to sleep at night. I look forward to being wowed by him every day." Which is high praise for the actor, but not as high as the praise Lifetime (mockingly?) threw at Lindsay Lohan with the news she is officially joining their Elizabeth Taylor biopic.
"We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor," said Lifetime's Rob Sharenow in a statement verifying previous rumors Lohan would portray Taylor in the network's Liz and Dick. "She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon." Sure!
