Soon: (Re-)Buy Ten Discs of Marvel Movies in Novelty Briefcase

June 1, 2012

If you're tempted by the allure of a "collectible" home video experience that won't fit conveniently in your shelving system, you are probably going to have to buy this.

Though a release date and finer specifics have not yet been provided, Marvel seems to be releasing the entirety of its up-to-date library--which they've now dubbed "Phase One"--in a ten-disc collection to debut sometime later this year. Amazon (via) has posted the above image of the set, along with the following details on what's all on these "discs":

  • • Marvel's The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
  • • Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
  • • Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
  • • Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray)
  • • The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray)
  • • Iron Man (Blu-ray)
  • • Bonus Disc - "The Phase One Archives" (Blu-ray)
  • • Collectible packaging with exclusive memorabilia from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Assumedly the "collectible packaging" would be the S.H.I.E.L.D.-style metallic briefcase hinted at above. Hopefully it will also come with the little drop cloth, so we'll have something to cover the shame of re-buying several films just to have some cheap toy luggage.
