When the makers of The Expendables 2 decided to push their film into an R rating, they defied the ultra-conservative will of Chuck Norris and deliberately broke a promise they made to him, and now they will face his wrath. Chuck Norris's wrath being to use the option in his contract to not return for a sequel.
At the red carpet premiere of The Expendables, when shout-asked by AccessHollywood (via) if he was "ready for number three," Norris revealed that he would not be coming back to the franchise, saying, "Nope, just number two... This is it for me," before adding some rather mundane Chuck Norris Facts involving him having fun on set with friends old and new alike.
Perhaps anticipating the departure, Expendables producer Avi Lerner has already begun work filling the Norris-sized hole with the likes of Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Nicolas Cage, and Wesley Snipes, so don't worry: there will still probably be ironically-beloved and/or 70-and-up guys in this.
