Bradley Cooper Not Playing Lance Armstrong, No Matter What He Told the British
Forget everything you may have heard about Bradley Cooper wanting to play Lance Armstrong in the upcoming J.J. Abrams-produced film. That was just BCoops supplying misinformation to the British.
No doubt charmed by Cooper's riveting portrayal of scandal in the hit drama The Words, the BBC last week asked him if he'd be interested in taking the lead in the Armstrong biopic currently being developed by Paramount and Bad Robot.
"I would be interested in that," Cooper replied, seemingly being interested in that. Continuing, he added, "I'd love to play that character. I would love to do something, I think he's pretty fascinating."
But Sunday night, speaking truth to the patriots of Access Hollywood, the star of Limitless and All About Steve told a different story:
"No," he said with a massive laugh, when asked by Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson about the reported casting news.
"Oh my God, that's so nuts!" he continued.
"I was in Manchester, doing the BBC morning show... I had no idea what [the interviewer] was talking about ... I didn't even know that J.J. has the rights, I had no idea."
Adding, "I don't know anything about it."
So never mind about Bradley Cooper playing Lance Armstrong. Shame, too, because did you realize he might be THE BEST ACTOR?
