Brett Ratner and Farmville, both still thriving and ever-notifying us of their existence thanks to our most easily entertained family and acquaintances, are teaming up to bring all the clicking and waiting of the Facebook game to television.
Deadline reports that the greasy director has joined with Six Eleven Media to begin production on a half-hour animated program about crops, animals, and the farmers who fake-tend them to fill their empty lives with a small, digital plot of wheat.
"FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience," Ratner said in a statement, imagining how sassy one of these cartoon chickens is gonna be. Even as he continues work on his Hercules film, he'll reportedly be executive producing the series. He just cares that much about re-telling the classics. Can't wait!
