The 85th Annual Academy Awards have just wrapped up, but already it's time to start thinking about future Oscars, and who will not be hosting those. Among the people we can officially put in that category: Tina Fey and this year's host, Seth MacFarlane.
With MacFarlane's opening bit having William Shatner verbalize what everyone was thinking--why couldn't they just get Tina and Amy to host the show?--Tina Fey has now provided an answer to that still-nagging question: because they do not want to do that. Speaking to The Huffington Post, Fey explained that while "It's an honor to be 'Shatnered'," there's no chance she'll take on the task of hosting next year's show.
"I just feel like that gig is so hard," she said. "Especially for, like, a woman -- the amount of months that would be spent trying on dresses alone ... no way."
Meanwhile, though the idea of women spending a lot of time trying on dresses is probably already giving Seth MacFarlane ideas for a rip-roaring bulimia number, it seems that he too would not be game for hosting the show. "No way," he said on Twitter in response to if he'd chuckle through some mentions of film nudity again. "Lotta fun to have done it, though."
Of course, that still leaves quite a few people who still have yet to say they will not host the Oscars, so make sure to keep checking back here for updates on who also won't do that in our continuing coverage on the road to eventually just settling for Billy Crystal again.
