Jessica Chastain May Be Tarzan's Jane; Sam Jackson Would Like in on This, Too
Not to be outdone by a rival Tarzan project's bold promise of the motion-capture of a guy from Twilight, director David Yates is reportedly looking to add some Oscar-caliber acting to his take on the Edgar Rice Burroughs tale.
The New York Post claims that for the role of Tarzan's Jane, Yates is eyeing the recently-Academy-Award-nominated Jessica Chastain, sending her down the same torture-to-ape-man path as her Zero Dark Thirty co-star Jason Clarke. As previously noted, Alexander Skarsgard is still said to be a frontrunner for the title character, and the Post adds that Samuel L. Jackson may join the cast as well, playing an ex-mercenary who helps Tarzan in his battle against a Congolese warlord. If he doesn't shout something about motherfuckin' gorillas, it's going to be a pretty disappointing film.
