Perhaps daunted by the lukewarm reaction to Iron Man 2 and the public's wild, unattainable expectations for a Zathura sequel, Jon Favreau is returning to the kind of small-scale project where it's fine if he's the star. Variety reports he's in talks with financiers and talent to direct and play the lead in Chef, an indie comedy that would mark his smallest budget since his feature directorial debut, Made. Favreau would play the title role, said to be that of an "emotional" chef at a Los Angeles restaurant. After all that escapist fare, it's time to get real with food and crying.
