Go on Tour with The National, by Way of Dude Who Doesn't Care about The National

April 16, 2013

Directed by The National frontman Matt Berninger's brother Tom, Mistaken for Strangers takes a unique approach to the tour documentary format in that, despite his following the band with his camera, Berninger's schlubbier sibling does not really like The National. He's apparently more of a speed metal guy, largely-estranged from his more famous brother and not sure what to do with his life. So, he did this, largely working himself into the film with what looks like a pretty standard redemption arc. Probably not the concert movie diehard fans would be hoping for, but I'm betting you'll still get "Bloodbuzz Ohio" worked in there somewhere.
