Marlon Wayans Will Have 'A Haunted House' Sequel Mushed Together by Winter
Marlon Wayans' plan to make his own Scary Movies, outside the Scary Studio system, has evidently succeeded, as Open Road Films has announced that Wayans will be paid to make a sequel to his latest muddle horror spoof, A Haunted House. The original made over $40 million on its meager $2.5 million budget, and though it just came out this January, the plan is to already get the next one in theaters by the winter. That doesn't give Wayans and co-writer Rick Alvarez a lot of time--nor a lot of newly-released horror films to reference--but thankfully there is another Scary Movie coming out this Friday. So if nothing else, they can turn to that, and at last lazy parody can consume and excrete itself in its most elaborate shit joke yet. Or they can just go back to Sixth Sense gags. "I see dead people... again!"
