In 2004's Maria Full of Grace, a pregnant Colombian teenager risks her unborn child's life and her own to become a drug mule, swallowing dozens of pellets of heroin to smuggle into the US. The film was critically acclaimed, and showed well the harrowing danger and violence inherent in being a young mule. But wouldn't it have been cooler if Maria had been Scarlett Johansson, and if she'd become a superhero instead of becoming traumatized by murder? Luc Besson thought so, too, so for the latest of his sexy-lady-kicks-ass genre films, that's what he's going to do. He's in final talks with Johansson to play the title drug mule in Lucy, THR reports. Johansson would play a girl forced into the smuggling trade against her will; she gets her chance at revenge, though, when one of the drug packets insider her ruptures, and instead of just killing her like you'd think, it makes her "an ass-kicking machine" with telekinesis, immunity to pain, and the ability to quickly learn anything. Likewise, after watching this film, you'll find you have quickly learned everything about drug smuggling, and how sometimes it creates sexy Gods.
