Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper To Tell Story of America's Most Lethal, Most Handsome Sniper
Returning to his beloved subject of people getting shot in the head, Steven Spielberg has found his next directing project in American Sniper, THR reports. Bradley Cooper is producing and already attached to star in the film, which is based on the memoir of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. The New York Times bestseller was aptly subtitled "The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History," and it goes into frank detail about how Kyle went from Texas rodeo cowboy to long-distance killer of over 150 people we hope had it coming. The script comes from Jason Dean Hall, whose prior work in morally-challenging human conquests is restricted to the 2009 Ashton Kutcher womanizer comedy Spread.
Tragically, Kyle was killed by a traumatized fellow veteran earlier this year. He'll never know that Steven Spielberg is telling his life story with a Best Actor nominee and Sexiest Man winner, which is a shame, because that's pretty fucking cool.
