'The Crow' Finally Cast, and It's No One We Were Talking About Before
Because apparently this guy really loves the undead and/or morbid birds, soon-to-be Dracula and The Raven star Luke Evans will reportedly be taking the lead role in Relativity Media's The Crow remake. Tom Hiddleston and Alexander Skarsgard had recently been rumored as possibilities for the part of resurrected rocker Eric Draven, but according to Deadline, Evans was always the studio's favorite lanky up-and-comer for the role--they just feared he'd be unavailable due to other commitments, like shooting Dracula and promoting The Desolation of Smaug. Since those remain an issue, production has been pushed to early next year to accomodate the actor's schedule.
Coming off big roles in Fast and Furious 6 and The Hobbit sequels, Evans seems a fine choice for the part, yet for some of us, there remains only one man--the original--who will ever truly embody the dark spirit of The Crow. We miss you, Bradley Cooper.
