Pixar Promises To Ease Back on the Sequels a Little

Drastically extending how long it will take them to complete their epic Cars Decalogy, Pixar has vowed to dial back on all these sequels and prequels they've been making lately. Speaking to Buzzfeed (via), Pixar Animation Studios President Ed Catmull has claimed that, "for artistic reasons," the now-fallible studio is going to stick to a 2:1 ratio of original content to sequels, with new films coming every year and franchises mercifully alternating.

Of course, as Planes has shown, Disney can still apparently step in and decide to make whatever spin-offs they want. So, yes, still expect Merida's Princess Getaway! by next year.
