Nicolas Cage Going Blind for Paul Schrader

Paul Schrader cast Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen for his soon-to-be-released The Canyons, but it seems that's just the start of the director's work with actors up for fucking anything. ThePlaylist reports Nicolas Cage will star in Schrader's next film, the thriller The Dying Of The Light.

The film centers on a CIA agent who, on his final mission before gettin' too old for this shit, ends up already being too old for this shit: he starts going blind while on this last case. It's said Drive and Only God Forgives director Nicolas Winding Refn will likely executive produce; he was once attached to direct but fell out due partly to disputes with the formerly-attached Harrison Ford. It's a shame we'll never get to see that version, pairing Ford's angered shouting with Refn's manic shifts from intense staring to crazed violence. But the good new is, with Cage now in the lead, we should still get something pretty close to that, really.
