'Dallas Buyers Club' Trailer: McConaughey Gives Hope to AIDS-Afflicted and His Oscar Chances

Matthew McConaughey lost a disturbing amount of weight to play the AIDS-afflicted in The Dallas Buyers Club, but from the looks of this first trailer, it seems he'll soon be getting some weight back. IN AWARDS. And in bringing his muscle and body fat percentages back to normal levels through healthy diet and exercise, probably. McConaughey can't be starved of hunkiness for too long or his bongo-ing suffers.

McConaughey stars in the true story of Ron Woodroof, a hard-partying Texan whose carefree lifestyle is brought to a quick end when he's diagnosed HIV-positive and given only 30 days to live. Unwilling to accept his fate nor the doctor's ineffective treatments, he goes into the smuggling business, sneaking unapproved drugs to himself and other sick with nowhere else to turn. Helping with his task: Dr. Jennifer Garner--a love interest carry-over from Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, apparently--plus a trans and gaunt Leto, who would clearly also not mind an award or two.
