Benedict Cumberbatch is preparing to head out to the Amazon jungle and never return, as all Cumberbatches must when they reach the end of their pupal stage. According to Deadline, the busy actor will use a rare hole in his schedule to star in The Lost City of Z, We Own the Night director James Gray's adaptation of David Grann's nonfiction bestseller. Cumberbatch will channel his experience in dandy monikers to the role of Percy Fawcett, the English explorer who in 1925 disappeared with his son while searching for a lost Amazonian city dubbed "Z." Though it's likely Fawcett was killed by indigenous tribesmen, in this film version, it's even more likely that his greatest discovery was the love between a father and son. That will look great on a poster.
