'Insidious' Series Getting Another Profitable Chapter
With Insidious: Chapter 2 this weekend taking in over $40 million on its $5 million budget, Entertainment One, FilmDistrict, and Sony Pictures Worldwide today revealed that's more than enough reason to make another one of these things. According to their press release, they're unsurprisingly developing a third chapter, and they already have series writer Leigh Whannell attached to script. It isn't yet clear if director James Wan will again return, but he's previously said he's trying to branch out beyond the horror genre--as such, he's currently busy extending a different franchise with Fast & Furious 7. Thankfully, as our many Saws have proved, he's not necessary for the continuation of a series he founds. And besides, the Insidious has been inside Patrick Wilson all along. Or something like that. I've stopped paying attention.
