Labor Day Box Office Won by Working Staff

Your four-day weekend box office:

1. Lee Daniels' The Butler - $20 million, topping the box office for a third straight weekend of seeing whatever has Oprah in it.

2. One Direction: This Is Us - $18 million, already turning a profit as fans rushed to see the big reveal for which kid will be the one who gets fat.

3. We're the Millers - $15.9 million, making this the sixth Jennifer Aniston film to earn over $100 million domestic, and reminding us that Just Go with It and Marley and Me still exist and did shockingly well.

4. Planes - $10.7 million. Fuckin' Planes.

5. Instructions Not Included - $10 million, easily beating fellow newcomer Getaway despite its opening in less than 350 theaters. The trick: it targeted the underserved Spanish family demographic, while Getaway less wisely targeted the demographic of people who want to watch Ethan Hawke drive.
