NBC Rebooting 'Murder, She Wrote' with Octavia Spencer and This Isn't '30 Rock'

NBC's latest hope for something people might watch? A new Murder, She Wrote that will no longer see Angela Lansbury typing anything in small towns with bizarrely-high murder rates. This version would instead find the '80s CBS series rebooted with Desperate Housewives' Alexandra Cunningham and David Janollari producing, and with Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer as our new Jessica Fletcher. The other big change: now the lead reportedly won't be a best-selling mystery author but just a hospital administrator self-publishing her first novel. Finally, a Murder, She Wrote with more Shades of Grey and hospital administration.
