Russell Crowe's mentally-ill genius persona is about to become a father! So good for him. According to Variety, Crowe is attached to star in Fathers and Daughters, a film sure to disappoint once audiences learn it's just about a single father and daughter. The actor will play a renowned author who is also a widower struggling with mental illness and the raising of a young child. It's described as a New York City-set "love story" between the father and daughter, told by jumping back and forth between his trying to raise the girl and later, when she's 30, "where she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood." So like Man of Steel, but now the flashbacks will have less of Russell Crowe riding dragons.
