Just as he did with Parker, Jason Statham is hoping to take a previously-portrayed tough-guy character and establish that, actually, that guy should just be Jason Statham. He's reportedly taking over Daniel Craig's nameless protagonist of Matthew Vaughn's Laker Cake for Viva La Madness, an adaptation he's producing based on J. J. Connolly's sequel book of the same name. Picking up where Layer Cake left off, it apparently sees the lead still hoping to retire but once again getting pulled into the sordid underworld of violence, fraud, drug deals, London low-lifes, and, shit, turns out Statham was right. This guy should just be Jason Statham.
