Looks like Bill Murray is following up Monuments Men and Grand Budapest Hotel with another notable if slightly less stacked ensemble lineup for him to deadpan against. Deadline reports that Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Zooey Deschanel, and artful plagiarist Shia LaBeouf are joining Rock the Kasbah, a Barry Levinson film with Bill Murray attached to the lead. As reported back in September, the script comes from Murray's Scrooged (and, sadly, Passion Play) writer Mitch Glazer. It sees Murray as a music manager who ends up stranded in Afghanistan, without his client or passport, after a USO tour. He ends up finding a young local girl with great pipes and starts managing her onto the stage of Afghanistan's equivalent of American Idol.
So see what acting like a little jerk gets you LaBeouf? Now you only get a supporting role in an intriguing Bill Murray film.
