'Chip 'n Dale' To Bring Additional Talking Chipmunks to Screens
Disney has announced plans to at last do something about the palpable lack of CGI chipmunks in aloha shirts we've felt so strongly since Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked left theaters in early 2012. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has picked up a pitch for award-winning commercials director Robert Rugan to reinvent Chip 'n Dale in the usual live-action/computer-generated hybrid mold. Details are still fairly scarce, but it seems we can probably expect appearances by the duo's late '80s friends Gadget, Monterey Jack, and Zipper as well, as the film will function an "origin story of sorts" for the Rescue Rangers and so many repressed feelings towards a mouse in a worksuit. Hopefully they'll at least keep the theme song.
