20th Century Fox is developing a comedy about the friendship between Dennis Rodman and Kim Jong-un, because that should speed things along to either war or peace, right? THR reports that the studio just bought a pitch called Diplomats, described as a two-hander about Rodman and the "hoops diplomacy" that led to Carmen Electra's ex-husband becoming the most unlikely emissary ever. Jonathan Abrams is writing the script, The Heat's Peter Chernin is producing, and, because The Greatest Director Kim Jong-il has sadly left us, Ride Along's Tim Story will direct. It will be sort of like Double Team, except in this version, Jean-Claude Van Damme will have an appalling human rights record punctuated by horrific prison camps, and maybe Kevin Hart will play the Rodman part.
