Sony has found their leads for Pixels in the thick, blocky human pixels Kevin James and Josh Gad. Chris Columbus is directing the film and Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Production is, as usual, at the root of giving Kevin James another high-concept starring vehicle. James and Gad will assumedly be playing some hardcore gamers, as the film--based on the below short and clearly that one Futurama episode--reportedly involves aliens attacking by way of 80s video game contrivances, leaving "four championship arcade gamers" as Earth's only hope. At least in as much as Earth can have hope when its only recourse is a fusion of Paul Blart and King of Kong's Billy Mitchell.
