In a daring showing of braggadocio against fellow rap greats Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Lee Daniels, and Brian Grazer, Nas in developing a retro hip hop series. Titled Street Dreams, the show is being made by the prestigious Xbox Entertainment Studios, but despite that, it seems like a pretty real project: Jonathan Levine, who just set up a Christmas movie with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is handling writing and directing duties, returning to the world of '90s New York he first explored in The Wackness. And with the half-hour program being based largely on Nas and his life growing up in Long Island's Queensbridge housing project, he's also involved with the writing and will be providing music. As Xbox is producing, the series is expected to debut on Xbox Live and have 12-year-olds berating you throughout it.
