Over the '70s, Hal Ashby directed a legendary string of films that included Harold and Maude, Being There, Shampoo, Coming Home, The Landlord, and The Last Detail. He was pretty much the best, and now director Amy Scott would like to tell you more about that with a documentary. She's putting together the film Once I was: The Hal Ashby Story, and already she has the participation of the Ashby estate and actors like Jane Fonda, Rosanna Arquette, and John C. Reilly--who lobbies hard for the film in the below pitch video. Naturally, they need some money to fund this thing, so if you want to find out more about Hal Ashby being great, head over here and toss them a little money. If you give enough, you can even get a really awesome Hal Ashby t-shirt. It's the perfect way to say you're a discerning cinephile while also saying, "I'm covering my torso in compliance with your store's posted policies."
