Emmy-nominated director Michelle MacLaren is reportedly in talks to make her feature big-screen debut with Wonder Woman, Warner Bros.' hotly-anticipated movie about Wonder Woman. Like Thor: The Dark World's Alan Taylor, MacLaren lacks film credits but has a long and impressive résumé in television direction, having helmed episodes of such cinematic series as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead. Unlike Taylor, MacLaren is a woman--a rare thing in the world of superhero movies but certainly welcome, in this instance in particular. And hopefully this is just a first step diversifying superhero filmmakers. Perhaps by the time we get around to 2020's Ray Fisher-starring Cyborg movie, we can finally get a modern superhero film directed by a cyborg.
