Amazon has decided on a left field but fairly great choice for the lead in their reboot of The Tick. According to Deadline, the title role in the streaming series has gone to comic British actor Peter Serafinowicz. You may know him from Running Wilde, Shaun of the Dead, Spy, Guardians of the Galaxy, Darth Maul's voice, or his own brilliant sketch series, The Peter Serafinowicz Show. Now, all shall know him as the man in the cyan bug costume. Vinyl's Griffin Newman is already attached to play moth-man sidekick Arthur, House of Cards' Valorie Curry will play his sister, Dot, and Tick comic creator Ben Edlund--who also created the beloved 1994 cartoon adaptation and 2001 live-action version--is returning as writer and executive producer. In other words, everything is lining up for this to be at least as good as the prior Tick iterations--and, no doubt, just as disappointingly short-lived. Expect it to not even make it past pilot.
