Venturing where Laff-A-Lympics already came and went 39 years ago, Warner Bros. is apparently making the cartoon world of Hanna-Barbera the latest property to get its own CINEMATIC UNIVERSE(!!!!!!). Though the studio hasn't yet described if this will really be a full-scale, Marvel-style, interconnected thing, at their CinemaCon presentation today, it was announced that the long-planned Scooby-Doo reboot is "really [their] first shot at unlocking the entire Hanna-Barbera universe." Scooby is, in other words, the broadly palatable Iron Man that will, eventually, let them do their Ant-Man, who is obviously Atom Ant.
As for the aforementioned Scooby movie itself, there's also a bit of news on that. It's set for a 2018 release and sees the Mystery Machine gang now employed in a larger organization than a stoner van. Also, that organization will evidently be their S.H.I.E.L.D. of sorts, because the title of the film is S.C.O.O.B. We can only hope that this organization's version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier at least has hippy flowers for rotors, or someone fucked up.
