Roland Emmerich's Next Disaster To Just Smash Entire Moon into Earth
2012, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, and Independence Day director Roland Emmerich has revealed the latest catastrophic disaster he'll build a thin narrative around. According to Deadline, he'll follow up the planet-ravaging alien attack of Independence Day: Resurgence by, at last going "big" and just crashing the whole goddamned moon into the Earth. The director has reportedly made a deal with Universal to direct Moonfall, a story from Emmerich and his 2012 co-writer that sees "an unlikely band of misfits who must unite to save humanity when the moon falls out of orbit and hurtles towards earth." Finally, a film for the hypothetical person who thought Armageddon showed too much restraint.
