Hewing closely to the books its based on, Game of Thrones is running frustratingly late. HBO has just announced that, with their show's seventh season seeing the much ballyhooed winter finally arriving in Westeros, it will be shot later in the year than usual. Consequently, it will now air next summer rather than having its typical spring debut. Also, while the seasons have traditionally been ten episodes long, this one will be only seven. Good thing they've lately gotten so efficient with exploding people wholesale, huh?
