Endangering Peter Dinklage's status as "probably our funniest dwarf, if not the guy from Seinfeld," Warwick Davis will soon be starring in a BBC sitcom created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant

[The] creators of "The Office" and "Extras," are collaborating on new laffer featuring Warwick Davis, the diminutive thesp familiar to film fans from "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter."

Dubbed "Life's Too Short," the 30-minute, single-camera pilot is "an observation comedy which follows Warwick's day-to-day life in a small world where big things happen," per the BBC, which has greenlighted the project.

Gervais and Merchant will appear in minor roles.

Gervais adds on his blog:

Some reports are saying that the "Life's Too Short" pilot we are shooting in the summer will be aired. It wont. It is a non-broadcast pilot.

We will shoot the whole series before anything is aired. We're not sure how many eps we will record (probably 6) and not sure when the series will air.

At last, little people have reached a point of equality where they too can be put in situations so deliberately uncomfortable you're forced to laugh. Congratulations. Now let's watch a Warwick Davis scene from Extras:
