That 'Party Down' Season Finale? That Was the Series Finale

Confirming what was already suspected would happen, what with star Adam Scott taking a permanent role on NBC's Parks and Recreation (and his character hopefully getting that part in Velour), Starz, the premium cable network that long-ago figured out the coolest way to make "star" plural, has decided not to renew its cult comedy hit Party Down. Deadline reveals the bad news, noting that last week's finale drew a total audience of 74,000, which is about equivalent numbers to what those shop-at-home knife salesmen you sometimes fall asleep to get.

If you haven't yet exposed yourself to what was, for my money, the most enjoyable (if not best) sitcom on television in some time, time to immediately catch up on the entire run with your Netflick insta-watch machine, so that you'll be ready for when the movie comes out right after Arrested Development.

(Thanks to Kevin, who adds, "Time to spray whip cream in my mouth like Chunk," which I think is only appropriate.)
