Just as Well: Tom Hardy Replaces Sam Worthington in a McG Film

Dashing our hopes of seeing Sam Worthington make romantic-comedy even blander, Tom Hardy has reportedly replaced the omnipresent Australian action star in McG's upcoming This Means War. The film was set up a decade ago as a project for Martin Lawrence and Chris Rock, but since that team-up was already gloriously formed in Death at a Funeral, it's now being seen as something for the Inception scene-stealer and Star Trek's Chris Pine to sharpen their comedy teeth on. Both men will play spies who fall in love with Reese Witherspoon--here we Sweet Home Alabama again, Reese!--leading them into a game of "black-ops warfare" against one another. Did Killers not give us enough spy-based romantic guffaws for a few years? I'm afraid not.
