Jail time for John McTiernan! The director--who made action hits like Predator, Die Hard, Die Hard: With a Vengeance, The Hunt for Red October, and more--was finally sentenced this morning after lying to the federal government about his association with racketeering, wiretapping private investigator Anthony Pellicano back in 2006. In July, McTiernan admitted to lying to the FBI and a judge about his involvement with Pellicano after losing a motion to suppress tapes of himself clearly telling the P.I. to bug producer Charles Roven's line when the two were working together on that Rollerball remake. Now, 13th Warrior director will now be forced to pay a $100,000 fine, serve three years probation, and spend a year in prison--which will probably hurt his plans to soon direct Shrapnel. Will the harsh consequences of remaking Rollerball never end?
