Tony Gilroy Making a Bourne Movie All His Own

October 4, 2010

Tony Gilroy, who conceived of all the previous Bourne films only to give his Bournebabies away to be raised by the likes of Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass, is finally getting to play father to one of them himself. The screenwriter, who has since directed, to some acclaim, Michael Clayton and, to less acclaim, Duplicity, is reportedly in talks with Universal to helm the franchise's fourth film, titled The Bourne Legacy. What reminds uncertain, however, is whether or not Matt Damon will be back, as he previously said he'd only return if Greengrass did--causing Sam Worthington to give a hint of a sly smile as he slowly narrows his eyes.
