'Adaline' Loses Heigl, Retains Convoluted Immortality Plot

November 16, 2010

When we heard about it last week, news of Katherine Heigl playing Angela Lansbury's mother in a film about a woman somehow made permanently youthful due to a car crash + lightning strike--yet able to lose her immortality if she finds a great man--sounded too phenomenally stupid to possibly be true, didn't it? Good catch; it isn't true. Or at least the Katherine Heigl part isn't, because now she's out of the film (likely because she's A Horrible). The rest, unfortunately, remains true, and Andy Tennant--director of Sweet Home Alabama, Hitch, Fool's Gold, Bounty Hunter, etc.--plans to besmirch a different actress's name by Adaline's March shoot date. Keep your phone on, Jennifer Aniston.
