We've got a few Marilyn Monroe biopics coming, several 3-D Snow White adaptations on the way, those Truman Capote films from a few years ago, both Volcano and Dante's Peak taking up precious DVD shelf space, Antz Shark Tale and A Bug's Nemo etc. Might as well have a couple movies about Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski, yeah? That seems to be the mentality of Nu Image and Natural Selection, as both studios are shopping biopics on the New Jersey contract killer around AFM this week. Nu Image's take, called The Iceman, reportedly has Michael Shannon attached to play the 6'5" murderer, with Benicio Del Toro and James Franco set to appear opposite. Natural Selection, meanwhile, has Mickey Rourke signed to star in theirs, and American History X writer Dave McKenna adapting the script from The Ice Man: Confessions Of A Mafia Contract Killer.
So, which big, creepy-looking-as-fuck guy do you want to watch soullessly murder a ton of people? Sorry, Ron Perlman for some reason isn't an option this time.
