- MGM's reorganization plan has been approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy court, which will allow the troubled studio to finally get out of Chapter 11. It's occasions like this that make you wish you had a recording of the Wheel of Fortune bankrupt slide whistle you could play in reverse, and that you were on a terrible morning radio show.

- Oh, and there's already a consequence to the MGM deal: the Farrelly Brothers' long-talked-about Three Stooges movie is supposedly finally happening, only at Fox rather than MGM. Unfortunately, the impressive-if-strange cast originally attached to the film has now moved on to other projects. Peter Farrelly said of the new casting process, "Our feeling is that no star is too big to audition and no matter who it is, we're going to have to see him in the role. This is not The Flintstones." You hear that, Rick Moranis? You won't just be handed this like you were with Barney Rubble.

- For Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance's next film, The Place Beyond the Pines, he's promising motorcycles, guns, and Ryan Gosling. If nothing else, he's starting this casserole with some pretty solid ingredients.
