Looking at a cast that includes Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, and Sofia Vergara, most romantic comedy directors would probably say, "OK, that should be enough people to do romantic comedy." Garry Marshall demands more! The Valentine's Day director needs additional actors for his next holiday-themed romance, New Year's Eve, and has summoned SNL's Seth Meyers, Inglourious Basterds' Til Schweiger, and National Lampoon's Pucked's Jon Bon Jovi to also fall in or out of love on screen.
Meyers will play the husband of Biel, a broke dad hoping his pregnant wife will push our their kid at the right time, producing the first baby of the new year and winning $25,000 for some reason. Bon Jovi will play an ex of Halle Berry's character and, of course, a successful rock star. Because if you're putting Bon Jovi in a movie, might as well just have him play himself, right? It's not like anyone's ever going to forget it's just Jon Bon Jovi and his fancy, aging-rock-star hair up there. Schweiger's part hasn't been disclosed, but he's probably a German guy, and Hilary Swank or someone has a crush on him but is afraid to tell him but they end up getting together thanks to New Year's Eve. The end.
