50 Cent Playing Satan-Exposing Blind DJ

May 18, 2011

50 Cent's recent appearances in "a really bad movie" with Mickey Rourke, the self-proclaimed "most critically-acclaimed role of his career" with Ray Liotta, and what looks like the result of clandestine inbreeding in the bottom of a DVD bargain bin, with Bruce Willis haven't seemed to stop anyone (including Bruce Willis, again) from wanting to work with him. Despite his résumé's Stephen Baldwin trajectory and questionable emotive abilities, the rapper is still being considered enough of an actor to be in real films, and director Stephen Sommers has just cast him in the upcoming adaptation of Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas. Joining star Anton Yelchin, 50 will play Shamus Cocobolo, described as "a blind deejay who helps the titular hero uncover a Satanic plot." Because when "cancer-stricken athlete" doesn't get you the Oscar nom, you move on to Plan B.
