'Hunger Games' Needed More Lenny Kravitz, Forehead

May 24, 2011

I figured we'd be about done with the Hunger Games cast at this point--what with how we've already got Jennfer Lawrence putting on her wood elf costume, and a release date set for next March--and yet, still it grows, today adding Lenny Kravitz and Toby Jones.

Kravitz--whose previous film work includes playing a nurse in Precious, himself in Zoolander, and the voice of a newborn baby in The Rugrats Movie--will play Cinna, protagonist Katniss Everdeen's "assigned fashion stylist for the highly ceremonial lead up to The 74th Annual Hunger Games," because casting Harvey Fierstein would have just been too obvious. Meanwhile, Toby Jones--who will next be seen as Arnim Zola in Captain America: The First Avenger--joins his Cap co-star Stanley Tucci as hosts of the televised games. So there you have it.
