'Snow White' Showdown Getting So Tediously Real

May 25, 2011

If you thought Universal moving Snow White and the Huntsman up six months to get out before Relativity's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White was the last you'd be hearing about that battle you never really cared about in the first place, I'm afraid that's not the case. In response to Universal bumping up their Snow White (the one with Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth) release to June 1, Relativity has now issued a "fuck you back," pushing theirs (the one with Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, and Armie Hammer) from June 29 to March 16. Relativity will not suffer the indignity of another Snow White movie coming out a little before theirs!

Though it seems this story if over, with Universal likely facing defeat--considering director Rupert Sanders isn't scheduled to start shooting Huntsman until the end of summer, making beating a March release practically out of the question--there still remains the chance Armie Hammer is a mole who will, according to plan, wait until the last day of production, yank all the film out of the canisters and frantically flee the scene. I'll keep you updated.
