Time for a Contemporary, $90 Million Arthur & Lancelot Movie, and More...

June 20, 2011

- Woody Allen has announced the full cast for his Rome-set The Bop Decameron, currently in pre-production. The film's central cast is Woody Allen, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig, and Ellen Page, while the support cast will include Antonio Albanese, Fabio Armiliata, Alessandra Mastronardi, Ornella Muti, Flavio Parenti, Alison Pill, Riccardo Scamarcio, Alessandro Tiberi and, due to popular demand, Tyler Perry as Madea.

- Warner Bros. has thrown down $2 million to purchase Arthur & Lancelot, a spec script from Wedding Crashers and The Change-Up director David Dobkin said to be "a $90 million budget contemporary re-imagining of the classic tale." I can only imagine that means President Vince Vaughn on a wild adventure with top Secret Service guy Ryan Reynolds.

- Remember how Michael Chabon was thinking about writing Jon Favreau's Magic Kingdom movie? Well, that's happening now, after Chabon reportedly "spent time at the Anaheim park with Favreau." If you have any vacation photos of the two on the tea cups, send them over.

- Danny Elfman is re-teaming with Spider-Man's Sam Raimi to score Oz: The Great and Powerful, and may write the music for Hunger Games as well. I can already hear the Elfmaniness.

- Diablo Cody has revealed her dream project to be a Brian Wilson biopic. So, Bob Odenkirk as Wilson, and J.K. Simmons as the psychotic voice in his head?
